GDR Tourists Get One Day Visa for Denmark
The East Berlin news agency ADN reports that the first
GDR tourists have made it to Denmark. They received one-day
visas on the ferry 'Kong Frederik IX'. The justice department
in Copenhagen had informed the public that visa for short
visits will be issued by all Dansish border officials. Before
that, such visa could only be issued in the GDR. The tourists
used the ferry from Warnemünde to Gedser.
ADN also reported that the Austrian government in Vienna
does not require GDR citizens to have a visa if they want
to visit the soccer match (GDR against Austria) taling place
in Vienna next Wednesday.
